Competition is the engine that stimulates business, is the dynamic factor for progress, efficiency, balance, welfare. In the European Union in the field of competition, rules is not an end in itself but a premise to effective functioning of the single internal market.
The primary objective of the major strategies adopted in the European construction has been the provision of free competition. Closely related to the concept of "competition" is the concept of "competitiveness". National competitiveness is obtained through national welfare, which is protected by the competition policy and legislation.
