This paper aims to describe the main situations of intercultural communication business and compare specific communication styles of different cultures.

Author’s belief, based on his experience as a teacher of business English and French at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, is that, to avoid errors in communication style, people who speak several languages should be aware not only of differences of those styles, but also the root causes that led to these differences.

The book addresses students and businessmen Romanian economists working especially with European partners. It shows mainly British and French styles of communication, first because English is the main language of business today, the second because the French are the only Europeans who refuse to do business in English, especially when in a position of buyers.
Chapters devoted to oral communication statements include information about the communication styles of other cultures outside of the British and French.
