This book is primarily addressed to students attending an Operational Research course, as well as to all individuals who are interested in the utilization of quantitative methods pertaining to organizational management. The book covers an array of problems solved by using continuous or discrete optimization methods and heuristic methods for determining the suboptimal solutions of the combinatorial optimization problems. The first part comprises linear optimization problems, that are presented in the first four chapters, and nonlinearity aspects which are included in the fifth chapter. The second part approaches combinatorial optimization problems. Each chapter contains solved problems which emphasize both the technical details of the specific optimization methods and the development means of the mathematical models for optimization problems that appear in an economic context.
