Knowledge management, as a subfield of the new concept of the "knowledge economy", represents a new management method that aims to transform the qualities of employees in an organization into a competitive power, superior to other similar organizations. By focusing on the use of professional intellect in activities that use individual and external knowledge, knowledge management gives value to organizations.

In the public sector, knowledge management involves the use of knowledge in order to improve transparency, provide services to citizens, for better communication with citizens/users/customers, and to improve the knowledge of their needs.

In this context, the authors of this research, a group of professors from the Faculty of Management, Department of Administration and Public Management, under a CNCSIS grant funded by MEdC, developed a study on the methods of applying knowledge management techniques in the public sector, and the research results have been summarized in this book.
