Through its theoretical-methodological content, the 4th edition, revised and added, of the paper Human Resource Management in Public Administration allows the acquisition of concepts, methods, procedures and basic tools of human resources management, approached from the perspective of literature, internal and as well as from the perspective of their applicability in the field of public administration in Romania. The paper is addressed to students of Faculty of Public Administration and Management from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, who study the discipline of Human Resource Management, undergraduate programs, specialization in Public Administration and Management / Human Resources, master programs (all three specializations of its), to the doctoral students within the faculty, but, at the same time, it can be capitalized by all those interested, from other economic / administrative education institutions. The acquisition by students – the main beneficiaries of the book – of all the aspects mentioned above, will have the effect of training and developing the basic skills necessary for them to become specialists in the field of public administration. As novelty elements that this edition of the book brings, compared to the previous ones, are the particularities of the activities of insurance with human resources (recruitment, selection, appointment to public office), of the professional training / development and of the evaluation of the individual professional performances – provided in the current legislation, respectively in the new Administrative Code – considering the three activities as fundamental in the management of human resources, carried out within the public authorities and institutions, in our country. At the same time, each chapter of the paper contains, in the final part, a set of knowledge verification questions, which contribute to the fixation and revision of the notions learned, both useful for the evaluation and self-evaluation of students.
