The book "Economy, organizations, society in the information age" gathers author's contribution on a range of key issues relevant to the phenomenology of the societal system at micro- and macro-level, in the first decade of the 21st century
The first volume of the book is devoted to the economics of information, a topic under-researched in Romania. Information is examined as both a resource and a commodity, having extreme economic properties, that neatly differentiate it from tangible goods.
The peculiar attributes of information goods and the functioning of the markets for information are reviewed, with an emphasis of the implications emerging from increased digitization and Internet expansion worldwide.
The target audience of the book consists of academics and students interested in the recognition of information economics and knowledge-based development as core topics on the national research agenda and in university curricula, thus contributing to Romania's integration into Europe of knowledge.
