The book focuses on a modern referencing system. While bookdown and Rmarkdown are well established within the technical researchers and the combination of Pandoc and Markdown are well presented on many blogs, there is a lack of published materials concerning the last two. Furthermore, details about the base of referencing systems and their meanings remain largely mixed within the online environment of different universities. Such gaps are further widened within a national context as that of Romania or other Central and East European countries, where students, researchers and others face challenges in adapting to the digital environment of producing sound references. Working with various digital tools, it appears many skip the base of referencing and are further challenged by getting a grip on the workflow.
Consequently, the book delves into the semantic of various concepts (reference, citation, bibliography, etc.) and links this part to a technical approach. Pandoc, Markdown and BibTEX are presented within a technical workflow, accessible to students and the many interested to easy their digital navigation and referencing.
