Family Violence. Between Social Perception and Individual Responsibility

In this volume, the authors’ aim is to make an analysis of family violence etiology taking into consideration the values and social norms held in certain periods of time and from different cultures and societies, sex-role socialization, forms of family violence as well as family violence as a social problem. At the same time, the authors’ analysis is focused on different causes, consequences, of domestic violence, on the methods and techniques of intervention and prevention, the supervision of social work services, intra-family violence in international context. Therefore, the work has an interdisciplinary character in which the family violence is analyzed from the perspective of social psychology, sociology, social work, legal studies and social policy, grounded on classical and recent studies from this areas.
