Young people should enjoy music, reading, theatre, dance, painting, sculpture, sport, everything entering their spiritual universe. And, even if some of them do not know this, we believe they need to find it out in their university years. That is why it is worth trying to get the young people close to the arts and culture, bringing them in their home. There are two forms of accessing culture: through specialised institutions and through internalising it. Our university promotes both equally. That is why a number of projects to the common benefit have been initiated: musical shows, the common celebration of Easter, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, University Day, as well as purchasing art objects, organising exhibitions, building the orthodox chapel etc.
In the painting gallery of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies there are paintings by the masters Cecilia Cutescu-Storck, Sabin Balasa, Ion Salisteanu, Dan-Cristian Popescu, Gheo-Vlad Botan, Adrian Parvu, Nicolae Aurel Alexi, Liviu Brezeanu, Valentin Tanase, Constantin Gavenea, Costin Petrescu, Nicolae Popa, Maria Mihalache-Blendea, Henri Catargi, Margareta Sterian, Ion Musceleanu, Ioan Tantas, Constantin Berdila, Eugen Craciun, Zoe Baicoianu, Maria Constantin, Radu Aftenie, Grigore Negosanu and others, more or less known artists.
This book, which is a follow-up of Arta în Academia de Studii Economice din Bucuresti (Art in the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies), has the aim of treasuring and continuing the traditions of supporting the arts that the Academy held mostly in the period between the two World Wars.
