Accounting, which was also mentioned by Marin Sorescu, as title of one of his poems, is a figures world. However, we can think beyond them. In a changing world, we consume resources, rather than trying to win them. Therefore, this paper brings into the spotlights the concepts of corporate governance, social responsibility and sustainability, which entered into the life of organizations, in most cases bringing multiple benefits, particularly on satisfaction line and on positive attitude of all stakeholders.
At European level, it is known and recognized the importance of ethical standards and of voluntary corporate social responsibility programs, of economical, social and environmental performance assessments (Albert-Roulhac and Breen, 2005). In Romania, the concept of social responsibility is less applied in organizations.
The book is usefull to both students and professionals and to other stakeholders and provides an image on corporate governance and social responsibility, the pillars of sustainability.
