Well-being is a cognitive concept related with quality of life, welfare, the pleasure of living and happiness. It needs a multidimensional approach to be defined: the physical well-being, the prosperity, the social well-being, the emotional balance and aspects related with career as personal development and professional accomplishments. The well-being of a nation relays on a functional health system, quality assurance in education, collective responsibility and social involvement.

As the title suggest “The role of physical activity in promoting well-being” is aimed to underline the beneficial exercise effects in maintaining quality of life. The book addresses to students; young, educated people, who will be trendsetters and decision makers in the years to come. The paper has an applicativ character, containing programs stuctured for students’ needs, helpfull in fullfiling their personal goals and reaching their potential.

The authors made recomandations also for informal physical activities, on students’ choice, depending on their preferences, disponibilities,  needs or personal goals.  Beside the exercise programs, the book contains guidelines for physical effort and information about recovery, diet and hydration useful for an active and healthy lifestyle.  This project is not just a prescription for strengthen the body, but for mind and soul equally, giving the human being a careful consideration as a bio-psycho-social entity.
