The author offers a series of multiple-choice questions regarding the concepts, structure and mechanisms specific of the UNIX operating system.
The book is organized in two large sections. The first section contains multiple-choice questions that cover the bases of UNIX administration. These questions are related to the Berkley Standard Distribution of the UNIX system.
The second section of the book contains a series of multiple-choice questions that cover the basic functionality of the UNIX operating system and also Shell programming. The shell-scripts presented in this section of the book were tested on an A.I.X. 5.1.0.0 distribution of the UNIX operating system.
The paper is addressed mainly to the students of the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics of the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest, in order to evaluate their knowledge at the Operating Systems discipline.
