The relevance of the topic stems from the role played by digitalisation in agriculture, thus driving economic activity on farms to high levels of economic, environmental, and social performance.
The results of this study add to the knowledge in the field of smart agriculture; they can underpin the macroeconomic policy decisions not only on sustainable development, but also on the development of precision agriculture and the targeting of funding in this area. The results of the research further contribute to informing microlevel investment decisions in the direction of farm digitalisation through the examples of best practice analysed in the study
