Mathematical optimization methods with applications in economy

This book is written for the students enrolled in the faculties of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. The author succeeded to create a useful companion for the courses in Mathematics with applications in Economy. More than 250 exercises and problems are included, covering several important mathematical topics (Linear Algebra, Linear Programming, Transportation Problem, Financial Mathematics).

Each chapter begins with a short section including the theoretical results (without proofs), needed for the succesful approach of the subsequent applications. Several problems of each type are solved, with full details provided. The reader is therefore challenged with unsolved problems, of different levels of difficulty, but is also helped through hints and final results.
