One of the aims of this doctoral study was to present a single methodology for analysis of multiple quality characteristics of software.
The book is structured in seven chapters. In Chapter 1 are reviewed four quality characteristics and relationships between some of them: performance, dependability, security and safety. Chapter 2 introduces the basic elements of software reliability, then, in Chapter 3, is treated "software reliability growth problem", estimating and predicting the reliability of a program. Chapter 4 presents models of reliability in accordance with a universally accepted classification in the literature, and Chapter 5 of the most important and used models of reliability analysis software. In Chapter 6, are described models of reliability optimization software products with restrictions on their development budget. Chapter 7 addresses the issue of software reliability optimization.
The author aims to develop in the future, a formal procedure to determine which model gives the best results on a particular set of data.
