CACTUS - Journal of Tourism for Research, Education, Culture, and Soul is an open access academic journal established in 2010. It provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to publish high-quality scientific work in tourism, economics, business administration, services, geography, and related fields.
In a world marked by profound structural changes in the global economy - affecting services in general and tourism in particular - CACTUS aims to advance understanding of new trends and challenges. The journal offers an up-to-date perspective on theories, methods, and practices, supporting the development of knowledge in these dynamic areas.
While welcoming interdisciplinary contributions, CACTUS places strong emphasis on tourism research. The journal seeks to identify and promote best practices and robust empirical results, and to encourage critical, innovative perspectives on tourism development. Through its published articles, CACTUS fosters collaboration and open dialogue across cultures, academic communities, and professional environments.
A dedicated section is reserved for young researchers - bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students - offering them a space to disseminate their most valuable research findings and engage with the wider academic community.
In its ongoing effort to strengthen its academic reputation, CACTUS is indexed and listed in several international databases, including widely recognized resources in its fields of interest such as DOAJ, RePEc (IDEAS and EconPapers), and ERIH PLUS.
We warmly invite scholars, practitioners, and young researchers interested in tourism and related fields to consider CACTUS as a home for their work. For questions about the journal, special issues or the suitability of a manuscript, please contact the editorial team at cactus.journal@ase.ro. We look forward to building a meaningful and long-term dialogue with our authors and readers.
